Trusty Leaflet Distribution came about as a result of one of our sister companies having had a bad experience using leaflet distribution companies for its marketing. In the past we had always had an excellent hand picked, tried and tested team of reliable individual leaflet distributors throughout the North West. There were approximately 20 distributors in the team each delivering to 1,000 households in postcodes with a high content of socio economic groups A, B, C1 and C2.

However, after deciding to undertake a rapid rollout expansion plan which we anticipated would treble turnover in the early part of 2007 the directors of one of our sister companies undertook the services of four large well known leaflet distribution companies offering nationwide coverage who were each to distribute 15,000 leaflets over a week – a total of 60,000 leaflets distributed. This was to be the start of a major rollout and plans were in place to repeat this leaflet distribution campaign once a month. By rights and according to our marketing monitoring system which we have developed over ten years and is very accurate the company should have experienced some 240 new enquiries from these leaflets with a conversion to business of 120 new clients.

In total just 12 calls were received and none of them converted - very poor leaflet distribution results.

Something had gone dreadfully wrong. We knew that our leaflet 'worked' as we had been delivering the same leaflet for years and not only were we £7,000 worse off but our plans for the rapid expansion slipped away very quickly too as we had ceased using our regular team of ‘reliable but steady’ individual 'hand picked distributors. We never did get to the bottom of what exactly had happened other than we found out that some of our leaflets had ended up in someones recycling bin and several thousand had gone into run down terraced houses with a high percentage of tenants on benefits and unlikely to respond to calls from a home improvement company and this was despite the fact that we had been sold a 'targetted' campaign based on demographic profiling which the companies had done for us.

We asked old leaflet distribution team members to return and began to ask how many companies had had hopes dashed by leaflet distribution businesses who throw circulars around like confetti with no concern for the response which should follow but doesn’t, and the associated costs and wastage in terms of both time and money.

We now have a large team of excellent hand picked experienced, reliable, leaflet distributors. We can simply choose to visit the houses to ‘back check’. Each delivers to between 1000 and 2000 households per week depending on their other commitments and cover regular rounds.  If we have large solus distributions on then our regular distributors team together to carry out the large jobs.  

We decided to form our own leaflet distribution company.  Initially to meet the needs of our own group of companies but very quickly realising that there was a real need out there for a reliable service for businesses lookiing to expand via leaflet distribution.

In effect we ‘share’ tried and tested leafletters with companies and each of those companies (including ours) has an excellent response from reliable, hand picked distributors who are constantly monitored by ourselves. Let’s just say that if we are not getting the response then you won’t be!! And if we’re not getting the response we want to know why!!! Another reason why you can be guaranteed of reliability is that we limit the amount of work each distributor does to between 1000 and 2000 households per week other than on the larger custom solus distributions and our bespoke shareplan distributions. We would rather spread the risk across fifty distributors than just one distributor delivering 50,000 leaflets (and possibly binning them or dishing them out as quickly as possible to the easiest houses they can find). In this way, if we find a ‘problem distributor’ we can pick them out of the system whilst minimizing damage.

Shareplan Bespoke -  You might want 10,000 leaflets delivering to a set area by a set time but still want to keep your costs down.  We look for up to 4 other non competitng businesses who might be interested in having a delivery to the same areas at the same time as you and organise this for you.  Slightly more expensive than the shareplan value rounds but still excellent value for money.  

Solus Distribution - Your leaflet delivered on its own.  You don't want to share the limelight with anyone else.  We dedicate distributors solely to your campaign.  More expensive but you should get the optimum response from this type of campaign.  

Why not share in our success by having your leaflets distributed alongside ours! It has taken us a long time to find the right distributors. Several hours of labour (we employ a person solely for the recruitment and vetting of distributors) have been spent advertising, recruiting, vetting and discarding to find the right distributors. We can save you literally hours and hours of painstakingly sifting through distributor applications  to find the right people for the job. Not to mention the amount of lost money on leaflets which have not been distributed by ‘new’ people who we test.
